HUNTSVILLE, ALA. – Georgia Southern closed out its 2025 cross country postseason on Friday morning at John Hunt Park, placing 28th at the NCAA South Regional.
The Florida Gators captured the team title Friday morning at John Hunt Park, leading a deep and competitive field, while the Tennessee Volunteers and the Alabama Crimson Tide followed on the podium in second and third.
"It may not have been the result we wanted, but the girls competed incredibly well," assistant coach Timothy Susko said. "We posted our fastest 6K team average since 2017, and our freshmen were a driving force behind it. All five ran under the previous 10th-best freshman 6K mark, and four athletes – three of them freshmen – finished under the former 10th all-time 6K mark. It's a strong foundation for where this program is headed."
