Statesboro, Ga . --- The Georgia Southern baseball team have announced their schedule for the 2026 season.
The Eagles finished with a 28-31 record, finishing as the nine seed in the Sun Belt Tournament with a 13-17 conference record. The 2025 campaign also saw another eagles selected in the MLB Draft, as
Josh Tate was picked in the eighth round by the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The 2026 schedule sees some major con-conference tests in both the midweek and weekend series forms. The Eagles start by hosting West Virgina for a series from February 13th-15th at J.I. Clements Stadium. The Mountaineers finished with 44 wins last year, winning the Clemson Regional before falling in the Supers to the eventual National Champions in LSU. The Eagles host another Power Four team to start the season, as Georgia Tech makes the trip down on February 17th for the first midweek bout of 2026.
The only road non-conference series for the Eagles on year sees them make the return trip to South Florida from February 20th-22nd, hoping to get revenge on the Bulls as they took the series in Statesboro last season. The final two non-conference series' for Southern includes USC Upstate (Feb. 27th - Mar. 1st) and Tennessee Tech (Mar. 6th-8th). The Eagles also return back to SRP Park in North Augusta to take on Clemson once again, but comes at an earlier date this season on March 11th; nearly three weeks earlier than 2025.
The Eagles start Sun Belt play by heading up to James Madison for a mid-March series (13th-15th) before hosting the next two weekends at home against both Marshall (20th-22nd) and Troy (27th-29th). The Eagles longest road trip of the year is next, as they head west to San Marcos for a series with Texas State to start April (2nd-4th). The Eagles then host the Jaguars of South Alabama from April 10th-12th before making the trip to Georgia Tech for an April 14th midweek.
The end of April sees Southern takes the road for their next two Sun Belt series', taking on both Old Dominion (17th-19th) and App State (24th-26th). The very beginning of May is a spotlight series in Statesboro, as the defending National Runners-Up in Coastal Carolina comes to J.I. from the 1st-3rd before Georgia State travels down for the final home series of the season from May 8th-10th. The true final home game is a midweek against the College of Charleston on May 12th before finishing the regular season at Southern Miss from thr 14th-16th. The Sun Belt Tournament in 2026 remains in Montgomery, and runs from May 19th-24th.
Notable midweek opponents included home-and-homes with Georgia Tech, Kennesaw State, The Citadel, College of Charleston, Charleston Southern and Mercer.

Rodney Hennon, who became the program's winningest coach in 2025. "The strength of this schedule should prepare us well for Sun Belt play and provide an opportunity for our team to build a strong resume. We are excited about the challenge as we seek to compete for a Sun Belt title and return to the NCAA tournament. We look forward to seeing Eagle Nation out in full force at JI Clements Stadium this spring!"
Fans can still watch the Eagles on the diamond throughout the fall, with the Fall World Series taking place from October 24th-26th at J.I. before going on the road to compete against both Winthrop (Nov. 1st) and Florida (Nov. 9th).
