JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Georgia Southern men's golf team took five of the eight matches to claim a 5-3 victory in the singles portion of Monday's Pablo Creek Cup against Jacksonville University in match play action. The two teams tied 6-6 in overall competition. With the singles win, the Eagles earn the victory point in Clippd, the official rankings for NCAA Golf.

Jacksonville took the foursome matches 3-1 with Hogan Ingram and Ian Glanton pairing up for a 3&2 victory.

After a quick break, the Eagles came storming out in singles play and took the all-important team point in that portion of the day, 5-3. Glanton continued his strong day with a 3&2 win in the second match and then Brycen Jones picked up a 2UP win in the third match. Luke Koenig (4&3) and Parker Claxton (6&5) both rolled to convincing wins to bring the Eagles to the brink of the team point and then Brantley Baker's 3&1 win in the final match wrapped up the win.

Glanton went 2-0 on the day with Ingram, Jones, Koenig, Claxton and Baker each picking up one victory.

"What an awesome day it was today at Pablo Creek," said head coach Carter Collins. "There were so many good matches today that helped us have a great day. I'm really proud of them for playing so well and winning the singles matches decisively. We definitely took a step forward today and this team can't wait to continue that momentum at the Sharkey this weekend."

All 10 Eagles are scheduled to be in action this weekend at the Thomas Sharkey Individual Collegiate, to be played Saturday and Sunday athe Georgia Southern University Golf Course.
