CLEMSON, SC – Georgia Southern women's golf kicked off the 2024-25 season breaking records and claiming the team title while sophomore Louise Reau secured her third career win at the Tiger Classic on Monday afternoon.
Georgia Southern led by two strokes over second place Campbell heading into the final round as the Eagles shot a program best 12-under par to secure its first team title of the season by 13 strokes over the Camels. The 12-under par second round sets a new record for lowest team round squashing the previous record, 6-under par, set back in 2021.
Reau led the Eagles firing a 72-65 (137) to finish 7-under par for first individual title of the season and the third of her career. The sophomore shot the best round in program history carding a 7-under par in the second round. Reau tallied 11 birdies over the two rounds with eight coming in the final round.
Along with Reau, two Eagles finished inside the top-5 as newcomers LoraLie Cowart finished tied for thrid and Mary Miller finished fifth. Miller led the way for the Eagles after the first round shooting 2-under par with five birdies in her first career start. Meanwhile, Cowart used five birdies and a 3-under par second round to begin her senior campaign.
Playing as an individual, Avery Robinson shot a 4-under par in the first round making it the best of her collegiate career as she totaled five birdies and finished off the tournament tied for 14th.
Georgia Southern totaled six Eagles in the top-25 as junior Regina Plascencia finished tied for 18th and freshman Kelsey Chen finished 22nd.
