MIDWEEK PREVIEW: Eagles Host Final Midweek of the Season

STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern baseball team will host the Jacksonville Dolphins for the final midweek contest of the 2024 season. First pitch from J.I. Clements Stadium is set for 6 p.m.

Georgia Southern holds a 27-24 record after falling in three games to the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns in the previous weekend's action, while the Jacksonville Dolphins carry a 24-26 overall record into the contest after taking two of three games from the Kennesaw State Owls to snap a 5-game losing skid and move into a tie for third place with FGCU.

The Eagles have already clinched the season series over the Dolphins with victories in February and last weekend, but a win tomorrow will give Southern its first 3-game series sweep over the Dolphins in program history.

Georgia Southern is 80-60 all-time against the Dolphins, and holds a 47-23 record over JU in games played in Statesboro. Georgia Southern is also riding a 15-game win streak over the Dolphins, a streak that started back in 2011.

Tuesday's game will mark Georgia Southern Athletics Marketing's Fan Appreciation Night, where concessions is selling hot dogs and fountain drinks for only $1 all game long. Fans can also try to win fun prizes during the marketing games throughout the game.

Georgia Southern will send RHP Porter Buursema to the mound for the final home game, while the Dolphins will send LHP Dylan Faulkner to the bump.
