MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama scored three runs in the fifth to push past Georgia Southern softball in game one on Friday night at Jaguar Field.
After four scoreless innings, South Alabama broke the tie plating three runs on four hits to take a late 3-0 lead. A two-RBI triple and RBI single plated the go ahead runs in the fifth.
Janai Conklin's infield single in the fourth was the lone Eagle hit on the night.
Anslie Pettit tossed 5.1 innings allowing three runs on seven hits including four strikeouts.
Olivia Lackie picked up the victory in the circle tossing seven complete innings surrendering just one Eagle hit and fanned seven batters.

The Eagles look to even the series tomorrow against South Alabama in game two of the conference series. First pitch is set for 4 p.m. and will be broadcasted on ESPN+.
