Eagles Shine, Take Team Victory at Georgia Southern Relays

Browne earns #3 all-time high jump performance, Eagles finish 1st of 5 teams
STATESBORO – The Georgia Southern track and field team had several individuals shine as it took home a team victory over the weekend at the Georgia Southern Relays, battling rain on the first day.
"I'm pleased with how we competed this weekend! Our ladies showed a lot of heart with some unfortunate weather," head coach David Neville said. "This was a good opportunity for us to compete on our turf, and we showed up. Riley Browne had a high jump breakout competition, and Sucar Tanelus continues to improve in both hurdle races."
The Eagles earned 296 team points, far and away in first place, as Albany State earned 144 to finish in second.
Several Eagles earned PRs or finished in the program record books. Sucar Tanelus set a PR in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.44 while also getting a time of 1:04.43 in the 400m hurdles.
Tristen Crosby set a PR in the 1,500m with a time of 4:59.77 as Katie Ranck finished just ahead of her at 4:59.03.
Riley Browne had an impressive performance in the high jump, placing third all-time in Eagles history with a PR of 1.69m.
The Eagles finished in first place out of five teams during the weekend.
GS will be back in action in Gainesville next week as it competes in the Florida Relays hosted by the University of Florida.
