Freshman right-hander Anslie Pettit went the distance tossing seven complete innings allowing two runs on two hits and punched out five.
The Eagles got on the board in the opening frame after Emma Davis led off the inning with a walk and stole second, Gracie Bellard recorded an RBI single to plate Davis. Two batters later, Jess Mazur moved Bellard and Perkins into scoring position. With one out, Faith Barth drew a sacrifice fly to double the lead, 2-0.
The Cougars would tie things up in the fifth on an RBI fielder's choice and an extra base hit. Pettit used a fly out and groundout to limit the threat and end the inning.
GS responded in bottom of the frame when Janai Conklin recorded her second RBI of the season for the final score, 3-2. Bellard drew a walk and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt before scoring on Conklin's RBI single.
