Box Score CLEMSON, S.C. - Clemson men's tennis collected a 6-1 win over visiting Georgia Southern on Friday evening at the Duckworth Family Tennis Center.
The Tigers evened their record to 4-4 with the win, while Georgia Southern falls to 2-6 on the year.
Clemson earned the doubles point in the match by winning at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. The Eagles' duo of Judson Blair and Pierre Mouesca were leading, 5-4, at No. 1 doubles when play was halted as the point had been clinched.
The Tigers notched first set wins in five of the six singles matches, then clinched the victory with straight-set wins at No. 1, No. 3 and No. 6 singles. The other three matches all went to third sets. Laurent Julia Calac earned a win at No. 5 singles as he defeated Stewart Aronson by a 4-6, 7-5, (10-8) score.
Georgia Southern returns to action on Sunday, hosting Gardner-Webb in an 11 a.m. match at the Wallis Tennis Center.
