MACON, Ga. - The Georgia Southern women's tennis team made its Fall debut over the weekend, competing at the Mercer Gridiron Classic at the Stephens Tennis Center in Macon.
Six new Eagles made their Georgia Southern debut in the event, including junior
Juliette Nask and freshmen
Hannah Eifert,
Franzi Heinemann,
Lisen Rinman,
Amelie Rosadoro and
Evelyn Warkentin. Junior
Nanaka Kijima and sophomore
Mackenzie Leopold also competed as all eight competed in the doubles competition, with seven seeing action in singles.
Warkentin had an impressive collegiate debut, winning her first three singles matches in the A1 Flight bracket to reach the final. In doubles, the duo of Nask and Heinemann captured third place in the A Flight bracket, winning three matches on the weekend.
Georgia Southern will wrap up the 2024 Fall campaign by competing at the ITA Southeast Regionals in Atlanta, Ga., from October 10-14. The regionals are hosted by Georgia Tech this year.
