STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern swimming and diving teams will host its first meet of 2024 with a meet against the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles on Saturday, January 13, at the Recreation Activity Center on the campus of Georgia Southern University. The meet is set to begin at 11 a.m., with senior day festivities set for 10:30 a.m.
The squads last met during the 2021-22 season, when Georgia Southern took part in the FGCU Invitational. In that meet, the GS Eagles came in second place with a final score of 874.50, and included feats such as Zuri Clavo swimming a new top time and a 400 Medley Relay that included Lilly Kasra and Abby Wenham qualifying for the NIC meet at the NCAA B meet that season.
This meet will serve as Georgia Southern's Senior Day meet, where the Eagles will honor eight student-athletes who served Georgia Southern swimming and diving well. The seniors that will be honored are Melody Giberson, Lilly Kasra, Hannah Merrill, Emma Scruggs, Abby Schoppa, Emma Sutton, Anya Weber, Austyn Woods.
