MOULTRIE, GA. – Georgia Southern diving opened the 2026-27 season with a strong showing at the Moultrie Invite, highlighted by a first-place finish from fourth-year Abby Ounsworth in the women's one-meter event.

Ounsworth posted a score of 240.83 across six dives to claim the individual title, while teammate McKinlee Taulbee finished second with a score of 231.15.

Georgia Southern placed five divers among the top seven, with Haley Aschenbrenner finishing fourth at 209.03 and Avery Nardone taking fifth with 207.23. Mackenzie Smith finished seventh with 178.95, followed by teammate Ava Mallon in eighth with 152.78.

The meet also marked the collegiate debuts for Aschenbrenner and Nardone.

The Eagles continued their strong showing in the team event, claiming both the first- and second-place finishes. Team A, consisting of Ounsworth, Taulbee and Smith, took first, while Team B, featuring Aschenbrenner, Nardone and Mallon, finished second.

Ounsworth also earned the meet's highest individual high-point award with 20 points, while Taulbee finished second with 17 points.
