Regina Plascencia Named Sun Belt Golfer of the Week

NEW ORLEANS – Sophomore Regina Plascencia was named Sun Belt Golfer of the Week following her performance at the Leadership and Golf Invitational, the league announced on Thursday afternoon.
Plascencia put together a career-best three-round performance shooting 73-71-71 (215) in her first start of the season to finish 1-under par in the tournament and tied for sixth place, marking her second career top-10 finish.
In three rounds, the Queretaro, Mexico native, tallied 12 birdies and was bogey free on the back nine in the final round of play. She was one of nine players in the tournament to finish under par.
Georgia Southern continues its west coast swing at the Molly Invitational in Seaside, California on Sept. 25-26.
