PREVIEW: Conference Play Opens Against Coastal Carolina

STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern men's soccer team will open Sun Belt Conference play with a match against the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers on Friday, Sept. 15, at Eagle Field. Kick-off for the match is set for 7 p.m.

Georgia Southern holds a 1-3-1 record five matches into the season, most recently falling to the Jacksonville Dolphins by a final decision of 1-0. Coastal Carolina comes in with a 2-3-0 record and on a two-match losing skid, falling on the road to College of Charleston and at home to Furman.

Coastal Carolina holds a 9-3-1 record over the Eagles in a series that dates back to 1985. The last Eagles victory over the Chanticleers came in 2017, when the Eagles won 2-1 in Statesboro.

This game serves at the Youth Night game, where local rec department and youth league soccer players are invited to come out and experience a fun night of Eagles soccer! The first 50 fans at the game will recieve a free Capri-sun fruit drink and free orange slices.
