NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Sun Belt Conference announced its postseason awards on Monday afternoon, and Jesse Sherrill was named to the Sun Belt Conference First Team All-Conference team, as voted on by sports information directors and coaches around the league.

Sherrill has been on a tear his final year of collegiate baseball, with his batting percentage not going below .400 for the final month and a half of the season. At the time of nomination, Sherrill is batting .405, which leads the Sun Belt by a wide margin. Sherrill is also second in the Sun Belt in on-base percentage, with .500, only .010 points behind the leader in the conference ... Sherrill leads the conference in hits with 87, which is 8 more than the second place man ... His 61 runs are fourth in the conference, only four behind the leader of the conference.

Sherrill and the rest of the Eagles baseball team will be back in action Tuesday night in Montgomery, Alabama, to take on the eighth-seeded Georgia State Panthers to open up the Sun Belt Conference Championship. Action from Riverwalk Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
