STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern baseball team will host the James Madison Dukes for a three-game Sun Belt Conference series to finish off the regular season. Action from J.I. Clements Stadium will begin Thursday night, with first pitch srt for 6:30 p.m.
The Eagles and the Dukes have played a total of 15 times, with Georgia Southern holding an 11-4 record over JMU as well as a seven-game win streak over the Dukes. The last time the two teams played was in 1999, where the Eagles swept a two-game series over JMU with a 12-4 victory on March 9, 1999, and a 8-5 victory on March 10, 1999. All 15 games between the two have been in Statesboro.
Georgia Southern comes into the series with a 25-27 overall record, including a 14-13 mark in conference, after ending a Jacksonville Dolphins comeback and taking a 9-8 victory. JMU comes into the weekend with a 29-21 overall record and a 14-11 record in conference play. JMU last played Old Dominion, winning that series two games to one, with a midweek against Virginia Tech being canceled.
Georgia Southern will start southpaw
Ty Fisher (3-6, 7.07 ERA) on Thursday night's contest, with the other days being listed at TBA at the time of writing. JMU will send out RHP Todd Mozoki (1-3, 4.21 ERA) on Thursday night and RHP Ryan Murphy (5-3, 4.94 ERA) on Friday night.
