MIDWEEK PREVIEW: Baseball Begins Regular Season Wind Down with Final Midweek Contest

STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern baseball team will take on the Jacksonville Dolphins for the final midweek contest of the regular season. Action from J.I. Clements Stadium will start at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16.

The Eagles and the Dolphins meet for the second time this season after both teams met in Jacksonville, Fla., back in April. The Eagles were able to take a close 5-4 decision from the Dolphins after a late RBI-single by Zane Faulk put the Eagles ahead in the contest.

Georgia Southern leads the overall series 77-60 after taking the aforementioned contest between the two teams back in April. In Statesboro, the Eagles lead the overall series 46-23. Georgia Southern currently holds a 12-game winning streak over the Dolphins.

The Eagles come into the contest with a 24-27 overall record after falling on the road against Georgia State. Jacksonville comes into the contest with a 30-21 overall record after dropping two of three to ASUN foe Stetson over the weekend.

Neither team has named a starter for the contest as of Monday afternoon. Starters will be revealed at a later time.
