PREVIEW: Eagles Fly West for a Pair of Alabama Matches

STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern men's tennis team will head west to take on the 74th-ranked South Alabama Jaguars on Sunday, April 9, followed by the Troy Trojans on Monday, April 10. Sunday's match will begin at 10 a.m. ET while Sunday's match will begin at 2 p.m. ET.
SOUTH ALABAMA OUTLOOK: The Jaguars come into the match as a ranked team for the first time this season, holding a No. 74 national ranking. The Jaguars are 11-7 this season and have won four of its previous five matches, only falling 3-4 at Louisiana. The Jaguars are led by Maxime St-Hilare, who is 13-5 overall this season and has been voted the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week multiple times this season.
SOUTH ALABAMA SERIES: The Eagles are 3-9 all-time against South Alabama and have fallen in eight-straight matches to USA. The two teams last met in Statesboro last season, where USA defeated the Eagles 4-2.
TROY OUTLOOK: The Trojans are 14-5 this season with four matches remaining in the regular season, including three SBC matches. Troy is 2-3 in SBC play, having defeated Southern Miss and JMU while being defeated by Old Dominion, Louisiana, and South Alabama. Troy is led by Mario Martinez, who is 24-6 overall this season.
TROY SERIES: Georgia Southern is 4-9 all-time against Troy, but won the previous match up between the two programs. In 2022, GS defeated the Trojans 4-2 in Statesboro.
