STATESBORO - The 74th-ranked Georgia Southern men's tennis team returned home for the first time in nearly a month and took down the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers in a Sun Belt Conference match on Monday at the Wallis Tennis Center, 4-0. Georgia Southern improves to 14-4 with four games left in the regular season, while Coastal Carolina falls to 10-8.

Action started in the doubles matches, where the Eagles found themselves locked in tight matches across the board. Valentin Dun and Alexandros Roumpis were able to pull away late at the No. 2 position to take a 6-4 victory for the Eagles, while Judson Blair and Pierre Mouesca needed a little extra time to clinch their match, winning 7-6 at the No. 3 position. With the win, the Eagles clinched the doubles point. At the No. 1 position, Pol del Castillio Masich and Aaron James Williams were locked in a 6-6 match before their match was called off.

In singles action, Roumpis dominated his opponent and did not allow him to score once, quickly earned a fast 6-0, 6-0 victory at the No. 6 position. At the No. 2 position, Williams was able to earn two quick victories to the tune of 6-1, 6-2, to give the Eagles a dominating 3-0 lead on the afternoon. Blair at the No. 5 position was on his way to clinching the match for the Eagles before rain came and suspended the match temporarily. After the brief suspension, the teams reconvened and Blair handled his opponent 6-2, 6-3, to clinch the sweep for the Eagles and earn a bounce-back victory for the team.

The Eagles will take on Troy and South Alabama in the final SBC road matches of the season, facing Troy on Saturday, April 8, and South Alabama on Sunday, April 9. Both matches will begin at 10 a.m. ET.
