STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern baseball team is set to host the ULM Warhawks for a three-game Sun Belt Conference series beginning on Friday, April 28. First pitch for Friday's game is set for 6:30 p.m.
Georgia Southern comes into the contest with a 20-21 record, including a 10-8 mark in conference play, after taking a road conference series from Marshall, two games to one, before returning home and falling against the College of Charleston Cougars on Wednesday night. ULM comes into the contest with a 15-26 record, including a 5-12 mark in conference. The Warhawks come in on a three-game losing streak after dropping the final two games of a conference series to Arkansas State, along with dropping a home match up to Stephen F. Austin on Tuesday night.
The Eagles and Warhawks have a little bit of history together prior to the Sun Belt, as the two were members of the now defunct Trans-Atlantic Athletic Conference (TAAC) together for just three years before ULM left the conference in 1982. The Eagles stayed in the TAAC until 1993, when the program joined the SoCon. Since the Eagles started playing baseball in the SBC in 2015, GS holds a 11-5 record over ULM.
