MIDWEEK PREVIEW: Eagles and Cougars Square Off in Statesboro

STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern baseball team is set to take on the College of Charleston Cougars in a midweek tilt on Tuesday, April 25, at J.I. Clements Stadium. First pitch from Jack Stallings Field is set for 6 p.m.

Georgia Southern and Charleston have met 72 times in the series history, with Georgia Southern holding a four-game lead in the series, 38-34. The two have met 29 times in Statesboro, where the Eagles are 16-13 all-time against CofC. It is one of the most evenly matched series that Georgia Southern has with another team.

The Eagles come into the match up with a 20-20 record, fresh off of a series win over the Marshall Thundering Herd in Sun Belt Conference play. Georgia Southern took the first two games by scores of 16-4 and 6-1 before falling in the final game of the series to Marshall. Charleston comes in with a 25-14 record after a sweep of the Western Carolina Catamounts in non-conference action. Prior to that series, Charleston squared off with another Sun Belt team in midweek action in the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, falling 12-4 in Conway.

Neither team has announced a starter for the contest.
