Georgia Southern softball has returned to Beautiful Eagle Field for the Spring 2023 campaign! Today we wrap up our season-long spotlight of our seniors with our 5 Questions segment. Our final spotlight falls on first baseman Katie Perkins!

Katie joined the Eagles this January as a graduate transfer from the University of North Carolina, where she played three seasons for the Tar Heels. She saw action in 71 games over three seasons and graduated from UNC with her bachelor's degree in December of 2022. So far this season, Katie has played in 28 games, starting 21, hitting .164 with five RBI. The daughter of Head Softball Coach Sharon Perkins, Katie is currently pursuing her master's degree in Sport Management from Georgia Southern!

1) What made you decide to come to Georgia Southern to continue your education and your softball career?

I wanted to be a part of a program with a winning culture and a coaching staff that cares about each and every one of their players. 

2) What's one thing that people don't know about you?

I talk in my sleep.

3) If you weren't playing softball, what other sport do you think you might play collegiately?

Soccer.

4) In a movie about your life, what actor or actress would play you?

Florence Pugh

5) What is your favorite home-cooked meal?

These chicken sandwiches my Mom makes.
