STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern baseball team will host the Appalachian State Mountaineers for a three-game conference tilt beginning on Friday, April 16. First pitch from J.I. Clements Stadium is set for 6:30 p.m. on Friday night.

Jarrett Brown on a RBI-single to right center field, taking a 5-4 lead in the top of the ninth inning that would eventually become the final, securing a 12th-straight victory over the Dolphins for the Eagles. App State comes in with a 16-14 record after falling in a home contest to the second-ranked Wake Forest Demon Deacons, falling 10-4 in that contest.
Georgia Southern is a dominant 74-24 all-time against App State, and holds a 38-10 record in Statesboro against the Mountaineers. Since joining the Sun Belt Conference together, Georgia Southern is 18-4 against App State, including taking two of three in Boone last season and eliminating the Mountaineers from the Sun Belt Championship in Montgomery last season.
This weekend will see the official opening of the YellaWood Deck in right center field. The Deck is open to any fan who purchases a Deck ticket and allows fans to bring their own food and drinks, and comes with tables, Adirondack chairs, and grills. Fans are encouraged to buy tickets early to experience the new gameday experience at J.I. This weekend's promotions will include the Atlanta Braves organist, Matthew Kaminski, returning to J.I. Clements Stadium to perform all weekend long for Eagle Nation! Make sure to try and guess what songs he plays for the opposing walk-up songs. In addition, there will be Cars Night on Saturday, as well as the second and final Bark in the Park on Sunday, April 16. Fans are enouraged to review the policies for Bark in the Park before bringing their four-legged friends to the park at the bottom of the release.
Sunday is the second and final Bark in the Park of the season. Fans will not be permitted to bring dogs into games after Sunday's game.

App State will start RHP Xander Hamilton (5-2, 5.89 ERA) on Friday night, RHP Bradley Wilson on Saturday (2-2, 7.29 ERA) on Saturday, and RHP Caleb Cross (3-1, 7.03 ERA) on Sunday.
