The Georgia Southern women's tennis team is back on the court! All throughout the season, we'll give you a closer look at the team with our 5 Questions segment. Our next student-athlete is junior Lindsay Tulenko!
Lindsay joined Georgia Southern as a junior in 2022 after playing two seasons at the University of South Carolina. She is a native of Bogart, Ga., and her twin sister, Jenna, is also attending Georgia Southern! Lindsay earned All-Freshman Academic Honor Roll honors while with the Gamecocks and is currently majoring in Nursing. In her first season with the Eagles this Spring, Lindsay is 5-4 in singles and 6-4 in doubles going into this weekend's Sun Belt Conference opener!
1) Why did you choose Georgia Southern to play for the Eagles?
I chose to come to Georgia Southern because I was drawn to the positive environment and culture I saw among the girls on the team, coaches, and other support staff. I was also drawn to how the University prepares athletes for life after sport. The genuine care and support that surrounds the athletics programs is unlike any other school I've been to and it is evident that everyone at the University is willing to help you succeed on and off the court.
2) Who is the one person in your life that you look up to the most?
My mom is the one person I look up to the most in my life. She leads by example and has taught me how to be resilient, caring, and dependable. My mom has inspired me to become a nurse because I have grown up seeing her passion for helping others, and willingness to put others before herself. She has been a registered nurse for over 30 years, and I am excited to follow in her footsteps.Â
3) What's one place in the world that you'd love to travel to someday?
I would love to travel one day to see the Northern Lights.
4) If you weren't playing tennis, what other sport do you think you might be playing right now?
I would probably be playing soccer or lacrosse. I always wanted to play these two sports in high school, but they were always during high school tennis season.Â
5) Do you have a phrase that helps you get through a particularly tough day?
"This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it." -Psalm 118: 24Â
