Freshmen and Sophomore Student-Athletes to Participate in Entrepreneurship Seminar

The event is part of the APEX program.

STATESBORO – Georgia Southern freshmen and sophomore student-athletes will participate in an entrepreneurship seminar presented by Steve Stewart, PhD, Associate Professor in the Parker College of Business, Tuesday, Feb 7, as part of the school's APEX (Athletes Preparing for Employment Experiences) program.

The event, entitled "Athle-preneur: Creating Value with Who I Am," will begin at 7 p.m. in the Engineering Building, RM 2110, and will educate student-athletes on how to start their own business and touch on topics such as basic business model creation and identifying value and marketplace.
 
The APEX program is designed to help prepare Georgia Southern student-athletes for the ultimate challenge after their playing careers- life. Led by Senior Associate Athletics Director Student-Athlete Development Gleen Hart and Senior Associate Athletics Director for Administration Tracy Ham, the APEX program fosters the holistic growth of all Georgia Southern student-athletes based on four pillars: life skills, leadership development, career growth and community engagement. The vision statement of the program is to "develop confident and independent leaders to win in their careers, communities and households."
