Savrasov Named CSC Academic All-District

The redshirt senior advances to the ballot for Academic All-America honors.
STATESBORO – Georgia Southern's Andrei Savrasov has been named Academic All-District in a vote by the College Sports Communicators (CSC), it was announced Tuesday.
Savrasov receives CSC Academic All-District honors for the second consecutive season, carries a 3.73 cumulative grade point average, is a three-time selection to the Georgia Southern Dean's List and was named to the school's President's List (4.0 GPA) last fall. The fifth-year senior is averaging 13.8 points and 7.3 rebounds this season. He has seven double-doubles and ranks ninth in the Sun Belt in rebounding (7.3/gm), fourth in field goal percentage (.495) and 10th in steals (1.4/gm).
The 2022-23 Academic All-District® Men's Basketball Team, selected by CSC, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-March.
The Eagles close out the regular season with a pair of home games this week. GS plays host to Coastal Carolina Wednesday on Black History Night and Appalachian State Friday on Senior Night. Both contests will tip off at 7 p.m. and air on ESPN+ and the GS Sports Network.
