ATLANTA, Ga. - Karlee Wells earned a score of 297.68 on the one meter dive on Friday, Nov. 3, sending her into the NCAA Zone B Qualifying Round in March 2024, as the Eagles competed in the Emory Invitational over the weekend in Atlanta, Ga.
"The program is extremely proud of our collective efforts at the Emory Invitational, especially given it was the first opportunity for swimmers AND divers to compete together this season," said head coach
Allyson Sweeney about the team's performance over the weekend. "We saw numerous season best performances in the pool & on the boards - notably highlighted by sophomore Karlee Well's Zone qualifying performance on the 1M springboard on Friday night! Looking forward to riding this momentum into our midseason competitions within the next two weeks."

Madlen Wendland had a productive weekend in the pool, finishing in second place in the 200 Fly with a time of 2:04.25, finishing the 100 Fly in third place with a time of 56.85, and finishing the 200 IM in fifth place with a time of 2:08.17.Â

Abby Wenham finished in seventh out of 38 swimmers in a 50 Free with a time of 24.23.

The Georgia Southern swimmers and divers will split up again, with the swimmers heading to Columbia, S.C., to take part in the Gamecock Invitational from Nov. 15-17, while the divers will take part in the Liberty TYR '85 Invitational from Nov. 16-18.
