PREVIEW: Swim and Dive Separates Once Again in Long Week

STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern Swim and Dive teams will separate to conclude fall competitions and meets before beginning winter and spring competition, as the swimmers will head to Columbia, S.C., to take part in the Gamecock Invitational from Wednesday, Nov. 15-17, while the divers will head to Lynchburg, Va., to take part in the Liberty TYR '85 Invitational from Nov. 16 - Nov. 18.
The Gamecock Invitational is a swimming-only event that will be hosted by the University of South Carolina. Other squads taking part in the event are UNC Wilmington, Gardner-Webb, Vanderbilt, North Florida, Tampa, and Milligan. This invitational will be a men's and women's competition, with prelims opening every day at 10 a.m., and finals taking place every day on 6 p.m., except for Friday, which will begin at 4 p.m.
The Liberty TYR '85 Invitational is a swimming and diving tournament hosted by Liberty University, but Georgia Southern will only be sending its diving team to the event. Other schools taking part in the Liberty invitational are Air Force, Campbell, St. Francis (Pa.), and California (Pa.). The meet will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday with a long course meters session. Each full day of the meet will begin with morning prelims at 10 a.m. On Friday and Saturday, finals will start at 6 p.m., while Sunday's finals session is at 5 p.m.
