Postgame radio interview with Brian Burg

STATESBORO – Ben Stanley scored a game-high 22 points and netted a 3-pointer from the corner with 47.4 seconds left in the extra session to lead Old Dominion to an 81-75 Sun Belt men's basketball overtime win over Georgia Southern Saturday afternoon in Hanner Fieldhouse.

Eagles of the Game
Kaden Archie led five Eagles in double-figure scoring with 18 points to go along with five rebounds, an assist and a blocked shot. Tai Strickland, Tyren Moore and Kamari Brown each scored 12, while Andrei Savrasov finished with 10 points, nine rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots.

Key Moments
Chaunce Jenkins fed Stanley in the corner for a triple that put the Monarchs (10-6, 2-2) ahead 77-73 with 47.4 seconds left in overtime. Brown answered with a pair of free-throws for the Eagles, and they fouled Faizon Fields with 36.9 on the clock. Fields sank them both, and Strickland's triple try was off the mark for the Eagles.

Mekhi Long made 1 of 2 from the charity stripe with 27.3 seconds left, and the Eagles (10-7, 3-1)  missed two 3-point tries on their next possession. Long sealed the win with another free throw with 9.3 to play.

Jalen Finch drove the length of the floor, drew a foul with 2.4 seconds to go in regulation and made both free throws to send the game into overtime.

Archie's 3-pointer from the corner gave the Eagles a 65-64 lead with 2:13 to play in regulation, but Finch was whistled for a blocking foul with the shot clock running down on ODU's ensuing possession. Jenkins made two free throws, and Archie answered with a layup at the other end to put GS back in front 67-66 with 40.6 to go.

Fields grabbed two offensive boards on the Monarchs' next possession and made the putback off his own miss for a 68-67 lead with 23.7 seconds to go. Brown missed a triple from the corner, and GS fouled Tyreek Scott-Grayson, who made 1 for 2 from the line with 8.2 to go, setting up Finch's game-tying free throws.
