Twenty-fourth ranked Georgia Southern returns to action at the Old Town Club Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Wake Forest at the Old Town Club Sept. 26-27. GS last competed in the event in 2019 and finished ninth. Current Eagles Ben Carr (T29, +1) and Mason Williams (T35, +2) played in the tournament.

The Eagles are coming off a team title at the Gopher Invitational Sept. 12. Wilson Andress (-11) shot a 5-under 66 in the final round to earn medalist honors, his first collegiate win. Georgia Southern shot 9-under in the final round, the lowest score of the day, to move two spots up the leaderboard and claim the team victory. Carr (-5) tied for 10th, and Williams (-4) tied for 12th as three Eagles finished in the top-15.

Georgia Southern returns 10 lettermen to the 2022-23 roster, and the Eagles are coming off their 16th NCAA Championship Finals appearance. All five Eagles who played in the lineup in the NCAA Regionals and Finals are back and will play this weekend. It's the same lineup the Eagles have had in their last seven stroke-play events, dating back to last season.

Carr and Williams both earned PING All-America Honorable Mention honors and PING All-Region accolades last season. Williams tied for 20th in the NCAA Finals, and Carr was the runner-up at the 122nd playing of the U.S. Amateur in August, earning an exemption to the 2023 US Open and a likely invitation to the 2023 Masters.

Carr makes his 44th career start in the lineup, Williams makes his 35th start and Andress will make his 28th appearance in the lineup. Hogan Ingram makes his 15th start, and Brantley Baker will be in the lineup for the 12th time.

The Eagles are paired with Wake Forest and College of Charleston and tee off the first hole Monday at 8:25 a.m.
