PREVIEW: Men's Tennis Opens Fall Season with UCF Fall Sizzler

STATESBORO – The Georgia Southern men's tennis team will begin its six tournament fall season with the UCF Fall Sizzler on Friday, September 16, in Orlando, Florida. The tournament will go on until Sunday, Sept. 18.
Nine Eagles will be taking part in the tournament this weekend, and they will be competing in four different singles brackets (Red, Blue, Orange, and Green) and two different doubles brackets (Fire and Ice). A list of entries and day one match ups are provided below.
In addition to Georgia Southern, seven other teams are participating in the UCF Fall Sizzler: host UCF, North Florida, Florida Gulf Coast, Kennesaw State, Stetson, Furman, and Cornell. Of these teams, GS will face UCF, UNF, KSU, Stetson, and Furman in the spring.
Singles entries are Pol del Castillo (Blue), Judson Blair (Green), Alexandros Roumpis (Orange), Dimitris Paliouras (Blue), Valentin Dun (Red), Laurent Julia Calac (Orange), Alex Suk (Green), and Jaap Aalderring (Red).
Del Castillo is the No. 2 seed in the Blue bracket and has a first round bye, facing the winner of Thiergard (Stetson) and Bradford (FGCU) in the second round. Blair is the No. 4 seed in the Green bracket and will face the winner of Snyder (UCF) and Suk (GS) in the second round.
Doubles entries are del Castillo / Blair (Ice), Julia Calac / Paliouras (Ice), Dun / Suk (Fire), and Roumpis / Mitchell (Ice).
