JOSH MINJAREZ
Josh Minjarez comes to Statesboro with intimate knowledge of Sun Belt baseball, as he played for six years at UT-Arlington during their time in the SBC. After his playing days, Minjarez spent a season as a graduate manager for the Mavericks, where he assisted with offense and primarily worked with infielders. He also coordinated offensive approaches with the hitting coach and created scouting reports on opponents. He holds the school record for most games played (249) and at-bats (898), and also holds a spot in the top ten in several categories; he is fourth in homeruns (26), seventh in RBIs (133), eighth in doubles (41), and third in hits (246).
CHASE WULLENWEBER
Chase Wullenweber comes to Statesboro after spending his graduate transfer season at Georgia State, where he played catcher. He started 17 games, where he knocked nine hits, including a two-run homer against Little Rock on March 20, 2022, and he earned a .424 on-base percentage with nine walks and seven HBP. Over the course of the 2022 season, he caught eight runners stealing and had one pickoff. Prior to Georgia State, Wullenweber played all four seasons of his undergrad at Tusculum University in Greenville, Tennessee.
TYLER OWENS
Tyler Owens was promoted to the Director of Baseball Operations position, where he will oversee the day-to-day operations of the baseball team. Owens handles the budget of the team and oversees team travel, schedules practice times, and ensures that student-athletes have everything they need to be successful in practice and on gameday. Owens was the baseball team's graduate assistant prior to the move, where he primarily helped out with pitchers.
The Eagles will begin practice on September 15, where they look to continue the momentum from a 41-20 season that saw them host a regional at J.I. Clements Stadium for the first time ever. The fall scrimmage schedule can be viewed under the "Schedule" tab in the navigation bar.
