
Three Eagles Named to Statesboro Regional All-Tournament Team

Fisher, Ledford, and Blancato earn regional honors
STATESBORO - Three Georgia Southern baseball players were named to the Statesboro Regional All-Tournament team after the conclusion of the Statesboro Regional on Sunday, June 5. The players named were LHP Ty Fisher, DH Noah Ledford, and CF Sam Blancato.
LHP Ty Fisher was named to the All-Tournament team after pitching the first complete game for Georgia Southern since Seth Shuman pitched one against UT-Arlington in 2018. Fisher also kept the UNCG offense from scoring a run, earning a shutout victory for the Eagles. Fisher struckout six batters and only allowed four walks, only allowing batters to hit .133 against him in the 8-0 win.
DH Noah Ledford continued his tear by holding the highest individual batting average of everyone in the Regional, batting .750 with a slugging percentage of 1.250 for the tournament. Ledford went 6-for-8 with three runs, a double, a homer, one RBI, and 10 total base. He also had an on-base percentage of .846 after being walked five times, including two intentional walks.
CF Sam Blancato had the second-highest batting average for the Eagles during the Statesboro Regional with a .364 BA and a .545 slugging percentage. Blancato went 4-for-11 with two runs of his own, knocking two doubles and driving in two runners. Blancato also had an OBP of .417 after being walked, and ended the regional with a perfect fielding percentage with four putouts.
