STATESBORO – Georgia Southern baseball players
Noah Ledford and
Jesse Sherrill have both been given American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-Region Honors. Ledford was named to the ABCA All-Region First Team, while Sherrill was named to the All-Region Second Team. This is the first time both players have received All-Region honors.
NOAH LEDFORD
Ledford was named All-Region First Team after a monster season as the Georgia Southern DH. Ledford led the Sun Belt Conference in RBI with 70 to finish the season and was tied for first on the team in hits with 79. Ledford also led in doubles (19) and home runs (17), and has the highest slugging percentage on the team (.665). Since Ledford was named to the first team, he automatically advances to the vote for a chance to be named an All-American, which will be announced later this week.
JESSE SHERRILL
Sherrill was named All-Region Second Team after transferring to Georgia Southern and making an immediate impact as the lead-off man for the Eagles, leading the team in batting average with .361, led the team in runs scored with 62, and was tied for first on the team in hits with 79. Sherrill was second on the team in walks (33) and was tied for first on the team in hits-by-pitch (17), which led to a team-high .480 on-base percentage. Sherrill also had the most stolen bases on the team with 13.
