LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The Georgia Southern baseball team fell 7-6 to the Little Rock Trojans on Saturday afternoon at Gary Hogan Field. The Eagles will go for the series win on Sunday at 2 pm ET.
Little Rock (22-23, 10-15 SBC) built a five-run lead going into the fourth inning, but Georgia Southern (33-17, 19-7) was able to score four runs in the top of the fourth inning, highlighted by a
Parker Biederer two-RBI single to plate
Sam Blancato and
Jarrett Brown, setting the Eagles up with a one-run deficit, 5-4.
Little Rock would plate two more runs, one in the bottom of the fourth inning and one in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Eagles would close the gap in the top of the eighth inning, when a Blancato two-run homer to left center field would score
Noah Ledford and himself.
The Eagles would threaten in the top of the ninth inning, when pinch runner
J.C. Peacher was on second with two outs. However, a fly out to centerfield would end the Eagles' threat and give UALR the win, 7-6.
