CONWAY, SC - The Georgia Southern men's tennis team fell to the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers 4-0 on Saturday afternoon. The match was the regular season finale for both teams, who will now turn their focus to the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.

The Chanticleers were able to jump on the Eagles early as they claimed the doubles point with 6-1 wins at both the No. 3 and No. 2 positions. At the No. 1 position, Alexandros Roumpis and Valentin Dun were down 2-3 when their match was called.

In the singles matches, Dun (1-6, 2-6) fell in two sets in the No. 5 position, setting up CCU with a 2-0 advantage. Dimitris Paliouras (2-6, 5-7) fell at the No. 4 position, and Tao Castillo (6-4, 2-6, 2-6) was able to push his match to a third set, but fell at the No. 3 position to give the Chanticleers the 4-0 win. The other three matches were unfinished.

After a difficult start in double, we competed well but Coastal Carolina did not let us get into the match. We need to let that match go, regroup and look head to the first round of our conference championship. Our team is resilient and will be ready to play on Thursday."
