STATESBORO – Two of the top three teams in the Sun Belt meet in San Marcos, Texas, as the Georgia Southern baseball team and Texas State square off for a weekend series starting on Friday, April 8. First pitch for Friday's game is a 7 p.m. ET.
This is the first time since 2019 that the two squads will meet in a series, with the Bobcats taking the series in Statesboro with wins in games two and three. The Bobcats have a small lead in the overall series, 8-5.
The Eagles hold an 18-10 record going into San Marcos, after dropping the series to Louisiana on the road and seeing their midweek game against Kennesaw State get postponed. Texas State comes in with a 23-7 record, sweeping App State in Boone for their weekend series, but falling to Texas A&M in the midweek.
The Eagles will bring out their regular rotation, starting with RHP
Jaylen Paden (3-0, 4.32 ERA) on Friday night, LHP
Ty Fisher (2-1, 1.57 ERA) taking the mound on Saturday, and LHP
Danny Madden (0-1, 4.71 ERA) starting the contest on Sunday. Texas State's rotation is TBA.
