STATESBORO – The 25^th-ranked Georgia Southern baseball team will take on the Sun Belt Conference preseason favorite South Alabama Jaguars in a big three-game conference series, starting on Friday, April 22. First pitch for Friday's contest is 7:30 pm ET.

The Eagles are 10-20 all-time against the Jaguars, but the last time the two squads met in the regular season, the Eagles took the series in Statesboro two games to one. The two met in the Sun Belt Conference Championship game last season, with South Alabama taking down GS.

Georgia Southern comes in with a 24-12 record after sweeping Georgia State in their previous weekend series and narrowly falling to Florida State on the road in midweek action. South Alabama comes in at 22-13 after winning their rivalry series against Troy last weekend, but falling to Southeastern Louisiana on the road in the midweek.

Both teams are highly ranked in RPI, with Georgia Southern leading the SBC at No. 13, and South Alabama with the third-highest in the conference at No. 52, just one spot above Texas State.

The Eagles will take their usual weekend rotation into the match-up, with LHP Ty Fisher (3.35 ERA, 2-1) getting the nod on Friday night, SBC Pitcher of the Week RHP Jaylen Paden (3.86 ERA, 4-0) on the mound Saturday night, and Sunday's starter to be announced later. The Jaguars will send out RHP Matt Boswell (3.38 ERA, 5-2) on Friday, RHP JoJo Booker (4.94 ERA, 3-1) on Saturday, and TBA on Sunday.
