MIDWEEK PREVIEW: No. 25 Eagles Start Road Trip against the Seminoles

Georgia Southern and Florida State meet for the first time since 2014

STATESBORO – The 25th-ranked Georgia Southern baseball team will travel to Tallahassee, Florida, to play the Florida State Seminoles to start a four game road trip. First pitch from Dick Howser Stadium is set for 7 p.m. on April 20.

The last time the Eagles and Seminoles faced off was on May 30, 2014, where the two teams met in the Tallahassee Regional. The four-seeded Eagles took down host and top-seeded Florida State in that regional, 7-0. Before that, the two teams had not faced off since 1985.

This is the first time since March 2013 where the Eagles will play a regular season game as a ranked team. GS is ranked No. 25 in the D1Baseball poll, and also ranked in the Baseball America poll (No. 19), the NCBWA poll (No. 29), and is receiving votes in the USA Today Coaches Poll. FSU is ranked in the Baseball America poll (No. 9) and the NCBWA poll (No. 26), but not the D1Baseball poll.

The Eagles will give LHP Hayden Harris (9.00 ERA, 0-0) his first start of the season, while the Seminoles will send RHP Jackson Nezuh (5.00 ERA, 1-0) to the mound.
