STATESBORO – The Georgia Southern baseball team will host Georgia State for a three-game conference series starting on Thursday, April 14, at J.I. Clements Stadium. First pitch for Thursday's game is set for 6:30 p.m.

The Eagles currently own a 70-26 record all-time against the Panthers. The last time the teams matched up was in the 2021 SBC Tournament, where the Eagles defeated the Panthers 10-1 to set up a semi-final match with Louisiana.

In confernce standings, Georgia State sits at first with a 10-2 conference record. Georgia Southern is tied for third with Troy, with a 8-4 record, and two games back from first place.

Per NCAA.com, both teams are in the top 25 for RPI. Georgia Southern sits at 17 in the rankings, while Georgia State sits at 25 in the rankings. All six Division I schools in the state of Georgia are in the top 25 in RPI (Georgia 4, Georgia Tech 11, Kennesaw State 13, Georgia Southern 17, Mercer 22, Georgia State 25).

Georgia Southern comes in with a 21-11 record, after winning the series on the road against then-10^th-ranked Texas State, and winning their midweek at Presbyterian behind a rally from the Eagles bats. Georgia State comes in 23-10, after sweeping
Coastal Carolina and taking down Georgia Tech in the Yellow Jackets' stadium.

The Eagles will slightly reconfigure their rotation, sending out Ty Fisher (2-1, 3.44 ERA) on Thursday night, Jaylen Paden (3-0, 4.46 ERA) on Friday, and TBD for Saturday. The Panthers will send out RHP Trey Horton (0-0, 6.75 ERA) on Thursday, RHP Chandler Dawson (2-2, 4.31 ERA) on Friday, and TBD for Saturday.
