PREVIEW: Eagles Head West for Two Sun Belt Matches

STATESBORO — The Georgia Southern men's tennis team is set to take on conference opponents #47 Louisiana and UT Arlington on the road this weekend. The Eagles will face Louisiana on Friday, March 25, with first serve scheduled for 4 p.m. in Lafayette, Louisiana.  On Sunday, March 27, the Eagles will head in Arlington, Texas to take on the Mavericks. The match will begin at 2 p.m.
 
LOUISIANA
 
SERIES: The Eagles are currently behind in the series against the Ragin' Cajuns 1-4. This will be the first time the two sides have met since 2019 when the Eagles dropped a 5-2 decision to UL in Lafayette.
 
LOUISIANA OUTLOOK: Louisiana host the Eagles at home after winning 14 consecutive matches before falling to #37 Oklahoma 6-1. Louisiana has already claimed two conference wins this season over UT-Arlington and Coastal Carolina. They currently boast a record of 15-2 and sit atop the Sun Belt Conference.  
 
UT-ARLINGTON
 
SERIES: UT-Arlington currently leads the all-time series against Georgia Southern 3-1. The last time these opponents faced was 2019 when Georgia Southern dropped the match to the Mavericks 7-0.
 
UT-ARLINGTON OUTLOOK: The Mavericks will enter match day coming off three straight conference matchups. UT-Arlington has dropped their last two Sun Belt matches and sits at 11-8 for the season. They will take on the Georgia State Panthers on Friday, March 25, before facing the Eagles Sunday afternoon.
 
UP NEXT: Following the weekend series, the Eagles head to Boca Raton, Florida where they will take on #60 Florida Atlantic and Southern Mississippi. The matches will take place on April 2 and April 3 respectively.
