STATESBORO – Georgia Southern will host its home opener for the 2022 season as they welcome in the Garnder-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

SERIES: The Eagles are a perfect 8-0 all-time against the Runnin' Bulldogs. The last time the two squads met was last season, where the Eagles defeated GWU 7-0 in Boiling Springs, NC.

GARDNER-WEBB OUTLOOK: The Runnin' Bulldogs ended the previous season with an 8-12 record, and they were 2-7 in road matches. This season, they have begun the year with a 3-3 record, falling to competition such as Charlotte, Wake Forest, and Davidson, while picking up wins against Wofford, Lenoir-Rhyne, and Lees-McRae. GWU player Victor Putter was named Big South Player of the Week for the week of January 24.

UP NEXT: The Eagles will stay at home for one more match to welcome in the visiting Cougars from College of Charleston. First serve is set for Thursday, February 10, at 1:00 p.m.
