STATESBORO – The Georgia Southern baseball team will welcome in the Knights of UCF for a weekend series at J.I. Clements Stadium starting on Friday, February 25. The first pitch for the first game is set for 6:30 p.m.
The Knights come into Statesboro with a perfect 4-0 record. They opened their season with a sweep of Siena at home, followed by a tight 3-2 game against North Florida. The Eagles come into the contest at 1-3, following a big win over the 19th-ranked Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
The Eagles are facing two players who earned American Athletic Conference honors for the week in pitcher David Litchfield and catcher Ben McCabe. Litchfield struck out eight batters in just six innings last Friday, and McCabe batted .750 opening weekend, slugging 1.625 and earned three extra base hits, including two home runs.

- Ty Fisher will get the nod on Friday night for the second time this season. Fisher had a solid showing at Tennessee, pitching for five innings and striking out two.
- Ben Johnson gets his second start of the season, moving into the Saturday starter role for the weekend. Johnson pitched on Sunday in Tennessee, where he only allowed two hits in two innings.
- Georgia Southern has two players that have stolen multiple bases already in Jason Swan and Parker Biederer. Biederer most notably stole home in the second game against Tennessee.
- This will be the first time since 1991 that UCF and GS will play. They played each other twice in the Olive Garden Classic in Kissimmee, FL, where they split the games they played. UCF won 12-10 on Feb. 8, 1991, and the Eagles won by a score of 15-10 on Feb. 10, 1991.

- Friday night's promotion is a free jersey giveaway. The first 200 students and all Bucket Reserved-Seating Season Ticket Holder accounts will receive a free replica pinstripe jersey when they enter J.I. Clements Stadium.
