
Savrasov and Toyambi Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

The pair advances to the ballot for Academic All-America honors.
STATESBORO – Georgia Southern's Andrei Savrasov and Prince Toyambi have been named to the Academic All-District First Team in a vote by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), it was announced Thursday.
Savrasov has started every game this season and is averaging 10.2 points and 5.6 rebounds a contest. The redshirt junior carries a 3.63 cumulative grade point average. Toyambi averages 7.4 points and 5.6 rebounds a contest and carries a 3.89 cumulative grade point average.
The 2021-22 Academic All-District® Men's Basketball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-March.
The Eagles play in-state rival Georgia State in a home-and-home series this week, starting with a matchup in Atlanta tonight at 7 p.m. The second leg of the series will be Saturday at 3 p.m. in Hanner Fieldhouse in a White Out on Alumni Day.
