Countdown to Kickoff
10: The Eagles have won 10 of the 17 games played against the Mountaineers in Statesboro.

9: Georgia Southern and Appalachian State combined to win nine FCS (I-AA) national championships.

8: App State has won eight of the past 11 games played to take a 21-15-1 edge in the series. The 37 games played makes App Georgia Southern's most-played opponent in program history.

7: Georgia Southern is ranked seventh in the FBS with just three lost fumbles on the season. If that number holds, it would be a school record for the fewest lost fumbles in a season.

6: The Eagles have failed to reach 30 points in six of the past seven games against App State (2-5).

5: Just five offensive players have started all 11 games thus far for the Eagles with three of them on the offensive line: Caleb Kelly, Khalil Crowder, Logan Langemeier and Pichon Wimbley. Only three defensive players have started all 11 games.

4: Receiver Khaleb Hood scored his fourth career touchdown last Saturday against Marshall, a 27-yard scoring catch and run late in the first half.

3: Saturday's games marks the third straight season - and only the third time in program history - that Georgia Southern and App State end the regular season playing each other.

2: Head coach Clay Helton is in the midst of just his second same-season, three-game losing streak as a head coach. His other came at the end of the 2018 season at USC.

1: One moves on. One is done. The winner of Saturday's game will be bowl eligible while the loser's season will be over.
