Eagles will host two tournaments, play 29 games at Eagle Field in Head Coach Sharon Perkins' first season
STATESBORO - Georgia Southern softball has unveiled its 2022 Spring schedule. The Eagles will be hosting two tournaments and 29 games overall at Eagle Field, with the season commencing on February 11-13 with the Bash in the Boro.
Under first-year head coach Sharon Perkins, Georgia Southern will play five games against nationally-ranked opponents and 11 games against teams that advanced to the 2021 NCAA Championships.
"I am pumped to get the year started after seeing how hard the players have worked throughout the Fall," Head Coach Perkins said. "They have done everything we have asked them to do and I couldn't be more proud of their attitude and effort.
"It has been exciting to watch the growth of the Sun Belt Conference and how competitive it is on a national scale. There are some great teams in our conference and amazing individual players and coaches as well. Having four teams make the postseason is huge for our conference. We have also added some competitive non-conference teams to our schedule. This year is going to be a challenging one for us, but I am eager to watch our team compete!"
