STATESBORO – Adrian Delph scored 24 points, and Appalachian State shot 52 percent from the floor to earn a 70-62 Sun Belt men's basketball win over Georgia Southern Saturday afternoon in Hanner Fieldhouse.

Andrei Savrasov led the Eagles with 16 points, and
Gedi Juozapaitis finished with 11.
Prince Toyambi matched his career high with 12 rebounds and added eight points, while
Tre Cobbs and
Kamari Brown each scored nine.
Key Moments
Georgia Southern (8-9, 1-5) scored seven points in a row to whittle a 12-point second-half deficit down to two on a Cobbs 3-pointer from the corner. Appalachian State scored back-to-back buckets with the shot clock running down as Delph made a triple from the top of the key, and Michael Almonacy canned a pull-up jumper that made the margin 62-55 with 3:49 left.
Savrasov made a layup on the Eagles' next possession, but Donovan Gregory hit a jumper at the other end for Appalachian State, pushing the margin back to seven. GS committed turnovers on back-to-back possessions while Delph hit a pair of free throws at the other end for a nine-point cushion with 1:40 remaining.
The Eagles trailed by 11 points in the first half but used a 14-4 run that included consecutive 3-pointers by Juozapaitis to cut the margin to 30-29 with 3:48 left in the frame. Appalachian State (12-9, 6-2) responded by scoring the final seven points of the period, holding the Eagles to 0 for 3 from the field and forcing two turnovers, and the Mountaineers led 37-29 at the break.
