Twenty student-athletes will have the opportunity to travel to Atlanta.
STATESBORO – The Georgia Southern APEX program will sponsor an Atlanta Career Networking Tour for 20 student-athletes April 28-30.
The group will travel to Atlanta for a two-night stay, attend an Atlanta Braves' baseball game, participate in a networking dinner and tour Mercedes Benz Stadium, the Home Depot Corporate Office and the Civil Rights Museum.
"This trip is another exciting initiative coordinated through APEX that will give our student-athletes a tremendous opportunity to make meaningful connections to business leaders in the Atlanta community," said Director of Athletics Jared Benko. "It is another innovative way to enhance the student-athlete experience at Georgia Southern."
To qualify for the trip, student-athletes must have completed 30 credit hours, be in good academic standing with the University, complete an online application and essay and obtain a coach nomination. The application deadline is Feb. 28.
"The Atlanta Career Networking Tour supports the APEX program's commitment to the holistic growth of all Georgia Southern student-athletes by providing real-world experiences to better prepare them for life after sport," said Gleen Hart, Senior Associate Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Development. "We are very excited to offer this opportunity through the APEX program and to continue to impact the lives of our student-athletes."
