Georgia Southern will host 15 home games in 2021, and due to COVID-19 protocols, seating and ticketing for the season has been altered in an effort to keep all fans and student-athletes healthy and safe.
Attendance for each game will be capped at 165, which includes the bleacher seating behind home plate and the left field bleachers. Additionally, squares will be painted on the grass behind the outfield wall to allow fans who want to bring lawn chairs. Admission, which is free, will be first-come, first-serve. Once the 165 count has been reached, admission will be cut off. Masks will be required for all spectators in Eagle Field for 2021.
Social distancing must also be observed and as such, seating areas on the bleachers will be clearly marked to help facilitate this process. Field access will be limited as well in accordance with Sun Belt and NCAA recommendations.
Also, in a first for Georgia Southern softball, alcohol will be for sale at all Eagle home dates. Alcohol sales will be cut off after the fifth inning of the last game of the day, or at 11:30 p.m. if weather forces the games to be pushed back.
These policies are fluid and could change as we progress through the 2021 season. Stay tuned to GSEagles.com and to the official Georgia Southern Softball twitter account for any updates to the policies.Â
