Georgia Southern is coming off a tie for ninth at the Red Rocks Invitational March 21. Alberte Thuesen fired a 71 in the final round, tied for the fourth-lowest score of the day, to tie for 11th, her ninth top-20 finish in 10 career collegiate events.
Ella Ofstedahl posted an even-par 72 on the first day, the fourth-lowest score of the round, and placed 13th. Ofstedahl picked up her third career win at the Mercer Invitational to cap the fall and has finished in the top-10 in six of her last 13 collegiate events. She has eight top-5, 12 top-10 and 21 top-20 career finishes and is playing a fifth season after the NCAA granted an extra year of eligibility to all spring sport student-athletes because of COVID-19.
Ofstedahl makes her 37th career start for the Eagles, Bell is in the lineup for the 12th time in her career and Thuesen makes her 11th career start. Savanah Satterfield plays in the lineup for the 10th time, and Abby Newton makes her seventh career start.
The Eagles are paired with UAB and James Madison and tee off holes 7-11 in a shotgun start Monday at 9 a.m.
Following the event, the Eagles play in the Sun Belt Championship at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Florida, April 18-20.
